I think one of my favorite things about the Christmas and holiday season is the scents that go with it. Nothing puts me in the holiday spirit or feels more inviting than walking into a room with the wonderful aromas that I associate with Christmas. My newest Christmas essential oil recipe this season fills my house with the warm inviting scents I love. To me, the house can be trimmed to perfection with garlands, a twinkling tree and pretty presents wrapped under the tree, but…
…it’s not complete until it smells like Christmas.
Fresh cut greenery with a hint of holiday spices are the finishing touch to me. I love when friends and family walk into my house and look at our garland and say, wow it smells so good is that fresh greenery?
Ha! Not even close in our Florida heat;)
But it smells like it, naturally without the fake overpowering evergreen scent that is sold everywhere this time of year.
I switched to using diffusers with essential oils instead of candles this year and I’m loving my decision. I use my Christmas essential oil recipe blend in my diffuser at home and at the shop to greet customers, on a cotton ball in my car, I even brought it on my dad’s boat on our cruise a few weeks ago. Just a few drops goes a long way.

This Christmas essential oils recipe has just the right balance of a subtle scent of live greenery from the black spruce a dash of spice from the cloves and a hint of lightness from the lemon.
Why switch from candles to essential oils? Well, it’s one more step towards reducing our exposure to chemicals in our home. The more I learned and read about what goes into scented candles the better I felt about the decision to not expose my family or animals to them. Essential oils work so well and offer many other healthy benefits, have no open flames, leave no soot behind, are 100% organic and plant based, and were less expensive in the long run.
