I love the big bowls of scented hand scrub that restaurants have here by the beach. I finally got around to whipping up a batch to use at home. Being a DIYer who frequently has her hands in paint, dirt, or whatever the current project du jour requires, takes it’s toll on my skin. This simple sugar scrub recipe exfoliates and moisturizes my hands and has a lovely soft peppermint scent.
In the blogger world, a sugar scrub hand wash recipe is like a like family recipe.
Every blogger seems to have one. Probably because they are so simple to make and share. The base for mine came from not only a good friend and talented blogger, but from someone whose experience I trust since she used to own a soap and candle company. Nancy from Artsy Chicks Rule shared her sugar scrub recipe last week and I had to try it out! I tweaked it a little to suit my taste and made my own flavor.
Ingredients to make a peppermint sugar scrub hand wash recipe:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup coconut oil
1 TBSP glycerin
1/2 tsp vitamin E oil
Add about 20 drops each of peppermint essential oil and orange essential oils. Adjust the amount of essential oils used to suit your taste.
Mix it all together and store in an airtight jar.
Add a cute spoon for dishing out.
Pretty up a mason jar or other interesting container for the sugar scrub hand wash and it will make a sweet and thoughtful gift. I’ve made it even easier with a free printable of my peppermint sugar scrub label (for personal use only). Print it on heavy paper or cardstock for a gift tag or on white sticker paper for a label.
