I have always DIY’ed and decorated my homes. Waaaaay before DIY was popular. The funny thing is, I’d never made a wreath. Not for any occasion ever befor blogging. Today I’m sharing my simple coastal fall wreath with a monogram. My coastal fall wreath is part of this year’s mega Fall Ideas Tour.
Be sure to visit the other blogs on this Fall Ideas Tour and you’ll find lots of fall home decor ideas on mantels, tablescapes, wreaths and crafts!

Simple to make coastal fall monogram wreath project
I started with a few faux floral stems and picks and fall items I had from last year, a large grapevine wreath and a big white wood letter “W” that I painted with stripes in fall colors. First, I pulled the individual floral stems sections apart.
I wanted to build a spray on the bottom of my coastal fall wreath so I started with the longest pieces first and slipped the ends into the grapevine wreath. I kept adding items from both sides inward until I filled in center section.
The only hot glue I used was to add a few acorns. I wired the ribbon and the monogram onto the grapevine form.
Of course I added a starfish to keep it coastal;)
It looks great on our front door. Yes, my front door is copper 🙂 I share how to faux painted a copper door here.
My monogram wreath matches my fall monogram door mat I made last year. You may notice I also painted my wreath hangar to blend in with my door because it stuck out like a sore thumb in its original color and drove me crazy every time I walked up to the front door!
There you have it, my super simple fall coastal wreath. Considering this is my second fall wreath…ever, almost technically my first since the base was my first fall wreath. I think it came out pretty good, in fact…I like it!

Thanks so much KariAnne:) It is! Especially when we don’t get the pretty fall colors and seasonal weather change like you all do:)
Jennifer @ Town and Country Living says
The colors of your beautiful wreath coordinate with the color of your front door so well! Love the little starfish!
Wendi says
Thanks so much Jennifer! Fall is the perfect complementary color for my copper door. Summer ciolors, not so much 🙂 Thank you for your visit!
Shannon says
Love how you added the starfish for the wee pop of coastal!
It’s a beauty.
Wendi says
Thank you so much Shannon. I was so torn between a traditional styled wreath and a a costal one. The starfish was a last minute add on, and I liked it:) Thanks for your visit and comment:)
kathy@petticoatjunktion says
I love your wreath Wendi. I really like the idea of painting the wreath hanger the color of the door. I’m going to steal that idea. Thanks!
Wendi says
Thanks Kathy and you should! The wreath hanger was driving me nuts because it stuck out so badly. A little copper paint took care of that problem:) Thanks for organizing such a fun tour!
Maryann @ Domestically Speaking says
Beautiful Wendi! That little white starfish just makes it!
Wendi says
Thanks Maryann I had to add something coastal and was a bit nervous the starfish would stick out like a sore thumb, thank goodness it looked ok:)
Vicki and Jennifer 2 Bees in a Pod says

Wendi says
Thanks so much ladies:) The wreath worked wth my door which was great because sometimes the coper is overwhelming against other colors. But I love the copper door because it’s so unique so I work around it:) Thanks so much for your visit!

Wendi says
Thanks Nancy… I know your a pro with the coastal decor. I wsn’t sure I’d like the starfish added in with the traditional colors, but I did:) Thanks for visiting & have a good weekend!
Jane @ Cottage at the Crossroads says
Hi Wendi, your wreath looks fabulous on that stunning copper door, and that starfish does lend a little coastal vibe to it. In another house, I painted the ceiling in our entry a similar copper color and I always loved it. Of course, the whole house was a VERY different style than our home now! Enjoying being on the tour with you!
Wendi says
Thnaks so much Jane. I love my copper door. A copper ceiling? Wow, sounds beautiful. This tour has been lots of fun and the fall decor has been fantastic!
Paula@SweetPea says
